One of my duties for the district is the Regional Director for the Elementary Science Olympiad competition. Below is an email from one of our sponsors that funds t-shirts and lunch for students. This funding and support helps show students how excited and important the work they do is to the future of our community. It is also important to have quality programs since these supporters also help fund many projects with our district's Career and Technical Education program.
Working with our community partners to provide programs for our students is another way to engage stakeholders. Below is an email I sent to our local volunteer fire department chief after he visited to set-up a Fire Safety Month presentation.
It is important to connect with other principals, district officials and stakeholders in educational settings. One way I have done this since being employed by Lenoir County Public Schools is by attending monthly board meetings. Below is the agenda from the March board meeting I attended.
In addition to applying for grants it is important to attend the awards programs and thank the organizations for their support. Financial support from external partners helped our teachers have special programming in their classrooms providing specialized lessons.
By attending the awards program I supported our teacher winners and thanked Tri-County Electric Membership Cooperative for their gracious classroom grant program.

I submitted the pictures below to NC Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom program to show them how our grant winner, Mrs. Sutton, was utilizing the supplies she received from the grant she was awarded.
